Did the veteran serve on active duty?

Active duty includes full-time service in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, or as a commissioned officer of the Public Health Service.

Next Steps

If the tool indicates you are eligible, the absolute most critical next step is locating the veteran’s DD-214 form (discharge papers). This document is required to claim any VA benefits.
